SFC Cautious Of The Lion's Speedy Wingers

After the two weeks break of the Malaysia League to make way for the national team, tonight the Selangor FC will resume Super League 2021 campaign for the 6th match against UiTM FC at the UiTM Stadium, Shah Alam.

Karsten Neitzel, the head coach of Selangor FC is satisfied to be able to conduct adequate training sessions during the period in improving the game of his boys for the rest of the M League competition this season.

“We’re not happy with the results of the last match and we want to improve our gameplay for the next match of the Super League 2021,” Karsten explained when asked about the Red Giants’ performance over the last 5 matches.

"Over the last two weeks, we've had more time to train better and make preparations. With that, I want to see better performances from my players," he added.

When asked about the UiTM FC team, Karsten did not deny that the club has an advantage in the attacking department but he remains confident with his players to bring home three points tonight.

“UiTM FC has fast midfielders and pacey wingers, so we have to be careful especially when they counter-attack. But, we also have to focus on our own abilities,” Karsten explained.

"We have to attack fast and more effectively and we have to play smart especially in the final third when attacking. If my players play like that, I'm really sure we have a chance to get three points tonight," he added.

Among the reassuring news for the Selangor camp, two players who were not listed previously due to injuries, K. Sarkunan and R. Dinesh have been confirmed fit and are expected to line up in the team’s starting eleven.

However, four Red Giants players could not be listed for this match due to injuries such as Nik Sharif Haseefy (ankle injury), Halim Saari (ACL), Wan Zack Haikal (right knee injury), and Sean Selvaraj (muscle injury).

The Lions are currently at the bottom of the league with 1 point, while the Red Giants are ranked 7th in the league after collecting 5 points from 5 previous matches.

Let’s give them a good fight, Red Giants!
